Ingredients

  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cup raw nuts and/or seeds I used 1 cup almonds, ½ cup walnuts and ½ cup pepitas
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup honey
  • cup dried fruit chopped if large (I used dried mix)

Instructions

  • Let's get that Firehawk Kamado Grill fired up for some delicious granola goodness!
  • Preheat your Firehawk Kamado Grill to 177°C/350°F and prepare it for indirect cooking by inserting both half moon stones.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, nuts/seeds, dried fruit, salt, and cinnamon. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add oil and honey to the bowl. Stir well until everything is lightly coated.
  • Spread the granola mixture evenly on a large, rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place the baking tray on the grill, and close the lid.
  • Cook the granola for about 21 to 24 minutes, stirring halfway through for even cooking.
  • Once the granola is lightly golden and crispy, remove it from the grill and let it cool completely for at least 45 minutes.
  • Break the granola into desired pieces for chunky texture or stir gently for a looser consistency.

Notes

Store your homemade granola in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 to 2 weeks, or freeze it in a sealed bag for up to 3 months. If frozen, allow it to thaw for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
